    Freshly installed win10 not booting up after deleting dual boot partit


    Hello guys.. I was running Windows 10 alongside linux mint on a different partition. I deleted the partition for linux mint but that made me regret as I ran into a series of trouble and messed up everything.. I decided to delete my win10 partition as well in hope to fix the problem.
    Now, the problem is, everytime I install Windows 10, and booting it up, it wont work.. it wont boot. One thing I observed thought is that everytime I select a disk for win 10 installation it wont automatically create an extra partition like it used to be. Im suspecting that I messed up my hdd.
    Some extra info:
    *Im on BIOS not UEFI.
    *I messed up the mbr partition before deleting win10

    Hi Bmbulahan. Welcome to the TenForums @Bmbulahan

    Assuming you don't have anything on this entire harddrive that you need to keep please follow this tutorial. Note one of the steps is to delete ALL partitions on drive. This is ideal, you may have a data partition that you want to keep. Please disconnect all other drives until Windows is installed.

    Clean Install Windows 10


    You should be fine.

    But, is there no other way? I got important files on my other partition.. Idont also have an extra hdd laying around..

    If you can copy the files to a flash drive or the cloud then you can clean install.

    Kyhi boot rescue can be used to:
    a) use the preinstalled software or download some software
    b) test the drive with HD Tune, HD Sentinel, Sea Tools for Windows, Crystal Disk, etc.
    c) make a backup image and copy and paste the important files to a flash drive or to the cloud

    Alternatively create a bootable Ubuntu flash drive:
    Create a bootable USB stick on Windows | Ubuntu tutorials
    Then copy and paste the important files to the drive or to the cloud.

    Would a reset save files equivalent (reinstall drivers and applications) be a viable fix?

    There is a Windows advanced troubleshooting menu on the computer that can be used for troubleshooting if it can be opened.

    The hardware method:
    Power on the computer and as soon as you see the Microsoft Windows icon power off.
    Immediately power on again and as soon as you see the Microsoft Windows icon power off.
    On the third power on allow it to progress to the computer's Windows advanced troubleshooting menu.

    If the computer's Windows advanced troubleshooting menu cannot be opened then a similar Windows advanced troubleshooting menu is available on a Windows 10 iso.

    Find two flash drives that you can format (> or = 8 GB)

    A minimum of 8 GB is needed for the Windows 10 iso.
    For the Kyhi boot rescue approximately 2 GB is needed but the extra space may be useful to save or move files.

    Thanks all for your great solutions.. but I don't want any of my files to be deleted.. I dont have an extra storage to backup my files and they surely wont fit on a flash drive..

    Anyway, I already fixed the problem. I just came back here to share what I have done just in case someone else will face the same problem as I did..
    I downloaded boot repair disk from here:boot-repair-disk download | SourceForge.net
    I then made it to a bootable usb by using rufus: Rufus
    I booted my messed up pc in to usb then after I got in to the home page of boot repair disk, run "uninstall os" then selected the drive where the os is installedb then rebooted and re installed win 10.

    Time to look into a backup methodology, I recommend Macrium Reflect. Have a look.

    At a minimum figure out how to back up your data. All drives eventually fail.
