    Just my two cents...

I cannot accept the current Windows 10 Start Menu.
Same feeling for Startdock Start 10 - no cascading flyout menus.

Classic Shell is wonderfully flexible and can do all the things I need.
I suggest using it. The program is great.

If you wish to create a custom folder in Classic Shell, it's easy.

Use the Classic with two columns Start Menu Style.

Just create a folder on your desktop, rename it and drag the folder over to the Programs area on CS.
It can then be re-positioned vertically or nested horizontally where you like it.

    Done.

I guess you mean to the tiled area. The discussion above refers to the left column of the start menu.
I thought that may have been the situation, seems picky to me, just use File Explorer.

    Hello @CJW,

You can use the method in the tutorial below to add a folder to "All Apps" (left side) in your Start menu, but it won't show up unless you add a shortcut into the folder.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was placing shortcuts to programs that did not need to be installed the traditional way, but ones that I just copied from my flash drive to a folder on the computer. Seems that only programs installed the traditional way can have shortcuts show-up in a folder that I create in . I hope that makes sense.
