Action Centre reporting my password has 'Probably been changed'

Not sure what to make of this. I use a local account and only use my MS account for outlook email and the occasional MS site that requests login details. I've just tried these and all work correctly with no warnings.

I'm inclined to do nothing but was mystified as to what the message implies.

That is weird then, but at least its not just me. This is the first time I've ever had that message appear. Wait and see I guess.

I think this is why I opted NOT to get a Microsoft account.

I also have the same issue and it has been going on for weeks. Would love to know how to block message and also what is in my computer that cause this message to appear. Sooo many scams out there ...

Login to Live.com with your Microsoft Account (Email address) and password. If that fails, there is an option to reset your password. Once it is reset, login to your computer with your Microsoft Account, it will update this information and then you won't see this message again.

Thanks. I use outlook web mail daily and also OneDrive and so as far as I know I'm logged in OK.

I tried to think of anything I had I done in the run up to this and the only thing I remembered was using the Feedback Hub and actually signing in to that (for once, I don't normally do that). PC runs a local account.

The message hasn't reappeared since I first posted.

Another option is to verify it in settings. I get this on (only one) of my PCs now and again but never understood what triggers it. Changing hardware perhaps. You can look at option 1 here :

could it simply be the DNS problem reported on other posts ?
