Windows 10 takes 7 reboots to start loading Windows.

The past couple of days my pc takes multiple times to load windows, it goes like this:

    1. Gets to blue Windows logo and no spinning white circle to indicate windows is loading.
    2. As above.
    3. As above
    4. Attempts to enter recovery mode or whatever its called as the pc failed to load windows, still no spinning white dotted circle.
    5. Back to number 1
    6. Same as number 5
    7. At the blue Windows logo the white dotted loading symbol appears and windows loads.

I built the pc myself 2 or 3 years ago with the following specs:
    Asus X99 AII
    i7 6800k
    MSI GTX 1080ti
    16GB Corsair ram
Windows 10 is at version 1709 (I have updates disabled)
    1x 250GB ssd boot drive
    1x 1TB SSD
    2x 3TB WD Black

I havent installed anything new and I ran Virus scan and Malwarebytes just to see, but they were clear.

Has anyone heard of this, or know what could be causing it? Tomorrow I will try booting from usb into safe mode to see if I get straight into safe mode. This pc, while I do some gaming on it is mainly for work and I really dont want it to die on me completely all of a sudden.

I noticed your one boot drive is a 250GB SSD. I had the same problem some time ago and found that the firmware for the SSD needed upgraded.

    Is it a Crucial SSD?

They are SanDisk. I will look for firmware for them tonight just to see.

EDIT. No new firmware for boot drive but the 1TB has a firmware update. Also ran the diagnostics from sandisk but were ok.

Forgot to say above but I also ran chkdsk and it found no errors.

Try booting from a rescue usb or disc,e.g. Kyhi's and see if it operates O.K.If it does then a clean install might be the next step. This does seem to be a corrupted OS.

Let's have a look at disk management, please:

It could be that your computer is not actually booting from the SSD.

Also, check for a BIOS/UEFI firmware upgrade on the motherboard/computer manufacturer's website.

Ive been keeping an eye on this now since I posted and I think it may have gone now. If it has gone completely then it was my ps4 controller connected to usb.

Im gonna keep an eye for a couple more days to be sure its gone.

@NavyLCDR, the computer is posting and booting from the C drive. Something is holding windows up from loading. I cant think what as I havent installed any new hardware or software. I had the ps4 controller connected along with the usb receiver for the xbox controller. after disconnecting those I assume its the ps4 controller over the Microsoft hardware.

Yeah its gone now it was the ps4 controller plugged in. I actually took all the other usb devices out but thought the pad was disconnected at the controller end. If i boot the pc up for the first time each day and plug the ps4 controller in then windows wont load, otherwise it loads fine :)
