    Lost facility on Documents screen

Sorry about the vague title but it was the best I could do.
Until the 1809 update yesterday, on the Documents screen I could click on a file or folder, drag it across to the vertical column on the left (I can't find out what it is called) and as soon as the dragged icon reached the Downloads, Music, videos, whatever, icon, the contents of the chosen Library (sic) would be listed to enable more accurate final placing of the dragged file.
The showing of the contents doesn't happen any more - how can I get it back?
    Thanks.

    Hi

Change the settings in folder options to show the quick access menu. I assume this is what you mean?
    Post back if not

    • Open the File Explorer.
    • Tap on View and click on Options.
    • Change the option Open File Explorer to: from "This PC" to "Quick Access"

Thanks for the reply which seemed simple enough and I was able to follow it easily, but it hasn't made any difference.
In Documents, If a file was clicked on and dragged to slide over the top of, say the Documents icon in the column on the left, Documents used to immediately expand to show the folders in it. I could therefore, with one movement, place a file into any folder in Documents.
    Thanks

Hi, I think Brink has the answer:
Turn On or Off Navigation Pane Expand to Open Folder in Windows 10 | Tutorials

The Tutorial section is worth while examining- many practical solutions.

Follow the link dachina provided - Turning navigation pane..
When you have it on, you have multiple choioces, where to drag file... It won't work in Quick access area, but it will in My PC and Libraries:

Thanks, job done, although Ialmost got lost in the forest. Option Three was the turning to take.
Who is this Brink? If I Google him/her/it I find that it is a computer game.
Anyway, thanks to all for your advice.
This latest update (for my benefit of course) has yet again changed all my folders to list view from Icon view. They will all gradually change as I use them, I hope.
    It is progress, allegedly.
    Thanks again.

Yes, good old Brink, but his name has come at me out of the blue; where do I find him?
    Is it an It?
