    Same problem

I have an HP pc with AMD processor. After upgrading from Win 7 Home to Win 10, the monitor will not turn off when running the screen saver. I have screen saver set to 5 min (Photo Gallery - random), turn off monitor at 15 min, and sleep at 30 min. Screen saver starts at 5 min but it stays on forever and the monitor never turns off. I disabled all the wake settings in power options and with the network card but still have the problem. Amazingly, when I set it to screen saver 1 min, monitor off 2 min, sleep 3 min, then all work correctly. But if I change to any other times, then the monitor never turns off.

Same problem here. Tried everything listed here including clean install. Using Asus PB278Q swift monitor. However i'm using Nvidia graphics card, 2 Gtx 970 sli. In cmd powercfg -requests lists "none" under all values. This is driving me kind of nuts. Lol.

I'm having the same issue. I suspect it has to do with running 3 monitors (ASUS vk278q) with 2 Nvidia 970 cards in SLI/surround mode. I haven't tried disabling SLI to test, I am lazy.

For what it's worth, Gary on a different forum discovered that his USB Joystick was the problem. I disconnected my Wingman Joystick now the monitor shuts off!

Thank you NAL, this is most likely a problem-solver. I've disabled my own USB game controller (a very old, arcade-type joystick connected via a Gameport-to-USB adaptor) from the Device Manager and voila: Windows works as expected and the monitor is finally allowed to turn off both automatically and manually. Of course, Microsoft still needs to fix this since it's clearly a bug, I'll tell them when their support team gets back at me.

    Same Problem

New poster here. I don't have a joystick to disable. HP Pavillion 23 - installed Windows 10 last Friday. The display will not shut off when set for any time through the control panel. It does work before logging in as someone noted. A related problem is trying to make the machine sleep. When I do it through the windows command or by hitting the power switch the screen goes blank. When I try to wake the computer by hitting the power switch or any key the screen comes back, but only at half power. It's barely readable.

I hope someone from Microsoft is reading this forum and is preparing a patch. I like W10 otherwise so this is most annoying

Very nice find, the problem for me is related to the Razor DeathStalker Ultimate keyboard. Solvable by disabling "HID-compliant game controller" in device manager.
Now all power settings are working fine, as is the keyboard.

Exact same driver causing the issue here.

Very similar issue here - however it can be solved temporarily by restarting the machine. After a while, the displays will stop going to sleep. I don't have the same HID driver listed as above.

Is anyone else able to get it to work temporarily by restarting?
