Can you select multiple open windows (not all) to close?

In Windows XP, I was able to Ctrl+Click windows on the taskbar to select them, then right click on any one of them & close all (a context menu option). Is there a way to do this in Windows 10? Is there an app that will do this?
    Thanks in advance?

Not sure it it this what you mean but:

Let's say you have a bunch of File explorer windows open and want to close all of them. Right click File Explorer on the task bar adn Close all Windows.

Thanks for your response. I was probably unclear. I was referring to open windows from different apps. e.g. a notepad file, Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, & maybe a few more. I cannot find a way to selectively close multiple windows.

Also, I tried your idea with multiple Explorer windows & there is no option to "Close all Windows". I've opened several apps & Explorer windows & I've attached an image of the context menu.

I think you can do this with the Task View icon in the Task Bar. That's the the one just to the right of the round Search icon on your task bar.

To close multiple instances of certain apps at once, they have to be grouped in Taskbar Settings...

Thanks again, but as soon as you click any item on the Taskbar in taskview, everything comes to the forefront.

Thanks @Edwin. I would prefer not to have taskbar buttons grouped. Also, I think I'd have to decide in advance which items I wanted grouped and this would be harder than clicking the X in the top right corner, one at a time. I'm kind of surprised that that functionality wasn't kept in Windows.

    Close Multiple open Windows: Solved

I just found a way to do this.
    1. Press Alt+Tab (all your open windows are shown)
    2. Keep the Alt key pressed.
    3. Press Delete & it will close the selected window. So if you want all of them closed, just press Delete multiple times.
    3. If you only want certain windows closed, just arrow over to the picture of that window & press Delete.
