Run these commands first and then see if the scannow command can run and complete:

    a) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    b) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    c) sfc /scannow
    d) findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
    e) findstr /c:"[SR]" "C:\WINDOWS\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" > %UserProfile%\Desktop\Cbs.txt

Make sure that the Macrium backup image is not in a different partition on the same disk and is on another disk. This way if anything happens to the disk the important files are safe on another disk.

Hi everyone , sorry for the delay..

Ive been trying to complete the steps but my computer has been freezing a lot in that the dektop stops responding and I have to hit the reset button.
I cant even ctr alt dlt or bring up the menu from the windows logo on the taskbar

At times the desktop freezes then applications like steam or chrome ect turn white..

I got a popup at this point.. and wrote down the info..

    "Microsoft Windows.
The application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait.
Do you want to end the process.
    End Process cancel"

At this point I hit cancel but shortly after I cant even move the mouse. The time bottom right on the taskbar doesnt change..

During the steps for the command prompt I input the info but it stops before 100% and hangs..
Ive tried 3 times in the past few days.

I'll keep trying hoping it will complete..

Tonight when the comp hung and I had to manually restart the comp I got a scan before booting into windows..

It simply said Scanning and repairing drive, it completed to 100% and booted into windows..

Should I keep trying the steps in #27 until it eventually completes ?

Thanks for your time so far in helping me, it is very much appreciated...

Place the computer in clean boot to perform the needed steps:

There are some steps that can and cannot be performed using safe mode:

The in place upgrade repair can be done in clean boot but cannot be done in safe mode.

Hi, ive been having issues for days..
Tonight my bios wouldnt recognise my ssd, I swapped it with an old sata mechanical drive and was going to install windows on it , but it was giving a blue screen as it had windows 10 already on it.. the blue screen was something like master boot error or whatever it was..

Anyway I swapped back to the ssd and tried again, this time it booted straight to windows, but I noticed it didnt recognise my hdd slave drive
It isnt listed in bios either..

I have this option to initialise it.. under disk manager
"You must initialise a disk before logical disk manager can access it
use the following partition style for the selected disk
    MBR (Master Boot Record)
    GPT (GUID Partition Table)"

I hit OK on GPT to see if windows would recognise the drive but I got an error popup stating...

    "Virtual Disk Manager

The specified disk is not convertible because the size is less than the minimum size required for GPT disks"

    I just tried MBR... but

    "Virtual Disk Manager
    Incorrect function"

In device manager drives it shows my ssd and also unknown device..

Ive restarted the system numerous times to see if windows would recognise the slave drive and also to check the bios but had no luck..

On a good note, the system booted into windows each time I started the comp or restarted,,

Could the slave drive have been the problem ?
Should I follow the steps still or should I try and fix the slave drive..

Thanks for your patience and help so far, its appreciated, thanks
