Disk Management cannot do anything and should not be asked to do anything to C:

    It is a limited tool.

Proper partition managers can set up the task, then execute it on reboot - which is really rather essential for a partition in use when Windows is running which would be a bit like doing open-heart surgery on oneself.

Check that "optimize drives" service is not disabled. Or some limitations in Samsung Magician?

I'm not familiar with "optimize drives" outside of defrag functions and thought they did not apply to SSDs.

This is a Samsung SSD but I don't have Samsung Magician installed. Should I? I ussually assume things like that are bloatware.

Try running Optimize drives .. For SSD it will actually just run Trim command. I got that from Samsung's forums

Oh, and can you post a picture from Disk Management?

    I'm not sure.
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
    Information:

    Windows RE status: Enabled
    Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition2\Recovery\WindowsRE
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: 643f6759-5bde-11e8-a629-c6f498b2584b
    Recovery image location:
    Recovery image index: 0
    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0

    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.

Partition2. I don't know how Windows counts it's partitions, but I would expect that System Reserved partition to be either 0 or 1.

I think I may have something odd going on with my drive0. MiniTool Partition Wizard fails to resize the OS partition even though it reports no problem (that I can find).

I'm going to start a new thread about my resizing problem. It's not really the topic of this thread.

Partition 2 is your C: drive. While it is unusual for Setup to place the recovery environment in the Recovery folder on C:, it is not unheard of.

I have a machine with a fully functional Advanced Startup recovery environment that has no Win10 recovery partition. This was an MBR Win7 system I upgraded to Win10. It already had the MBR maximum of four partitions before the upgrade and the existing recovery partition was the OEM Win7 recovery image. Setup had no choice but to put the recovery environment in the C: drive, or partition 3 in my case.

Converting MBR to GPT can be done with and without data loss.

As a backup plan another option is to use Macrium:
