Thanks, I was planning on asking about this also. I used this setup on Windows 7, it is prob the same techniques used t odo it in 10. I will read through the article, to be sure. I will take your advice about not moving the desktop.
On that subject though. Maya, a program I use relies on the Documents folder when it get's installed. Would keeping Documents on the SSD (OS C: drive) make it run smoother and maybe even reduce any conflicts? Or does that not matter one bit? On Windows 7 , I had the Documents pointing to the separate 4TB hard drive (internal) and I didn't notice any major issues that I can remember. But if keeping it on C is advised, I will go with that. I know that is probably more likely a question for Autodesk though but would like to hear some opinions :)
I never experienced any problems with any software, doing this.
I even keep my virtual machines on another drive(albeit a 2nd m.2 NVMe drive, but still) and it works great, as that way I don't lose updates or changes I have made to them. Can you imagine what a pain it would be after re imaging a system, and not only having to update that system, and any software that might need it, but also the same in three virtual machines?
Are you telling us ; Macrium/Aomei, etc. dont backup registry...............??
Why should we have more trust in the restore-points , made by Windows , then in Macrium/Aomei complete backups............??
( just a question ....)
I think you need to reread what I wrote above and the question that was asked from RedLad; Hi, I just installed Windows 10 - a few questions - Page 5 - Windows 10 Forums
Sorry pietcorus2 , you are confusing me a little here :)
