    Cannot change power plan from balanced


    Using a Windows 10 laptop with Home Edition version 1803 unable to change power plan from balanced to high power

    Using the laptop to DJ with and I am getting audio dropouts and been advised to disable CPU throttling and need to do the plan change in order to do this please help

    Please provide more details about how you are unable to change your power plan.

    For now, you might see if using an option in the tutorial below may change it for you.

    When I go into power via settings I only have the option of balanced and only option is to create a new plan

    In that case, you might see if using either option in the tutorial below can restore the power plan you wanted to use.

    Thank you I used the command line method and it worked perfectly. Laptop is coping much better with Audio now

    Is it possible to make a shortcut to the power plans so that i can switch easily between balanced and high?
    I only need to use High if I'm.djing with the laptop so the rest of the time I could leave it as balanced so there is less drain on the battery?

    If you like, you might see if the context menu added from the tutorial below may work for you. It'll let you quickly change power plans as needed.
