How do I hide icons in "show hidden icons"?

    Hi
I'm working with a remote desktop application in a big company (about 200 users), and I don't want people to see what app we're using.
Once the icon is hidden, they cannot disable it and that's what I'm looking for (basic users, no worry)

For example - I want to hide the AV. (eset).
    How do I do it?
I was able to do it easily back then, but now that option is "like" disabled for some reason....

    Ps.
Is there a group policy to hide a selective icon?

    Thanks!

Try this. Go to Settings, Personalization, Taskbar. Click the Select which appear option.

Set Show All to OFF, and select only the ones you want to ON.

Hey, thanks, but that doesn't work.
It's just removing from the task bar. I need to totally hide it. From the task bar and from the Hidden icons (Just disabling the icon?)
+ I've uploaded a photo shows, Eset still visible in hidden icons

Is there any option in ESET to not show a Taskbar Notification icon? That's usually the user interface icon. App may have an option saying something like "Show User Icon in Task Bar Notification Area", or similar. I do understand why you want to hide it. A good rule of security is not let the bad guys know what you are using.

I use Eset IS version, I can't find anything in Eset setting or win 10 to turn the icon off totally.

You would have better luck opening a support ticket to get the exact answer you are looking for.
Here is a link for support, I would think you need the Business & Enterprise Support :

    ESET Internet Security

There's nothing in ESET's help documentation to suggest such an option either, source:
    https://help.eset.com/essp/11/en-US/...vironment.html

Furthermore, there is no group policy nor registry edit that I'm aware of that can do this.

Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and go to the registry key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.

The list of installed software, which a user sees in Programs and Features, is generated based on the contents of this registry section.

Note. If an app is installed under user permissions, you should go to the key
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.

If this is a 32-bit app, and your OS is a 64-bit one, you’ll need open the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Find the reg key with your app name (in our case, the registry key name and the name of the program in the programs list are the same – 7-Zip , i took 7zip for example).
Create a new DWORD parameter with the name SystemComponent and the value equal to 1

so after you hit ok you have “SystemComponent”=dword:00000001

(Noob Note : you can do this by right clicking on the right hand area along with other entries for same program, and you will only find those entry after you have selected your application from Uninstall panel on left panel in registry editor.)

After that just refresh your uninstall programs windows. your program is hidden now, In order to unhide, Just delete the entry.

Hope someone will find this helpful.
