    Update phone to windows 10

I joined insider a while back and updated my Lumia 640 to Windows 10. In December I bought a used Lumia 1520 (AT&T sim) on windows 8.0. I updated it to 8.1 in late December but I can't get it to update to "10".

Upgrade Advisor APP says I can update phone but need do a phone update on 8.1 first. And when I try that, I keep getting an error code 80004005. Tried the OTCupdater method using a USB cable to my laptop but that fails with a multiple roots error line 2 position 2.

Does anyone know if there is a solution to this ?

That is because Microsoft no longer supports Windows Mobile. This was news for quite a while. Microsoft Admits Windows 10 Mobile Is Dead MS has moved toward more Opensource projects such as Chromium, Linux and Android for certain projects. Even Gates has used AndroidOS devices vs. his own stock, because he knew that Windows mobile was never going to do well in the end. Even Bill Gates Has Switched to Android... Windows Phone is dead (for realsies) as Microsoft discontinues Skype and Yammer apps

December 11, of 2019 is the last date that Windows 10 Mobile will receive any kind of updates. The only updates that are being pushed are security and minor cosmetic. 24 Months from release was the EOL set by MS on this OS.

Windows phones are a dead end with no new apps appearing. I've moved on to a basic Android phone to have access to the latest apps and for security updates. I've kept the old Windows phone as a backup.

My brother's 525 did until he run it over with car. After that it didn't do anything but smoke.

My Windows 8.1 then 10 (with most updates) has been the most reliable device I have owned.

    It's a miracle!
Last night at 10 pm my phone gave a notification that an update was ready.
I went to settings, phone update and watched as the update was installed
an 30 minutes later the phone booted to Windows 10.Mobile with a
OS build of 10.0.10586.107. I then spent several hours adding, deleting
and updating apps and adjusting settings. This am the phone said it
    would update to 10.0.14393.1066 Lifeisgood.

I have 2 Lumia 929 Icon on 10.0.14393.2551 which is ver 1607 and no longer get updates.

They are still working good but limited apps.

I still get app updates from MS Store on my current apps.
