PC can't wake fully from sleep or hibernation - gives this error

    Hello.
Suddently my PC can't wake up from sleep or hibernation anymore. It will try, but when it reaches thestate where the login screen for password should be shown, it either just shows a black screen or it reboot. Before black screen or reboot, it has a lot of HDD activity. In the Windows log this is shown:

    Hi Burgurne

Please check Windows update history, all categories and see if anything was recently installed, Windows Updates, Drivers, Others.

Did nVidia just update your graphics driver?

Did you recently install anything that may have just updated?

If this is not related to change I would check drivers for updates. You mentioned getting black screen so graphics driver and NVMe is mentioned so storage. If you update graphics drivers I would run ddu before update to get clean slate.

Before updating drivers please ensure you have a recent system Image so you can restore. Macrium Reflect is my choice for this task.

You said it happens after sleep, is this the case even after a short sleep (so it has not fallen into hibernation / hybrid)

I would also run chkdsk /r against boot volume and I would run memtest86 to rule out these conditions.

    MemTest86+ - Test RAM

It looks like it is BSOD'ing so you could post in BSOD section.

How long have you been running 1809 ?

    Hi,

Had a similar issue recently, it was the Samsung NVME driver. I uninstalled it and just went with the standard Microsoft driver until Samsung fix it.

HEUREKA!!! YES #3. That was the answer .
Recently I have installed a second NVMe drive into my PC (have now a Samsung 960 EVO 500Gbyte and a Samsung 970 EVO 500Gbyte), and in Device manager they was treated differently by the Samsungdriver, 960 EVO was a normal NVMe drive, but 970 EVO was a SCSI-adapter NVMe.

#2 After installing the NVMe drive no. 2 it still worked for 3 days, but this morning it was faulty. I have now tried to find out any change, and yes there was a change, I updated FoxIt PDF reader yesterday evening, but that is it! Could something in this reader has changed "something"? I know FoxIt is not the small fast program it once was, and I wondered yesterday how long I would still use this program, as I had to say NO to 3 (three!!) offering about some other programs just to get FoxIt installed.

But after uninstalling this Samsung Driver, it WORKS FINE AGAIN.

Yes, I also only got the issue after installing a second Samsung NVME drive. There is a thread on the Samsung forum about this issue. It seems we'll just have to wait for Samsung to fix the driver.

The OP displayed bugcheck A0: Internal Power Error

Please run both the BETA and DM log collectors and post zips into this thread:

#8 I don't know what BTEA an DM log collectors are . If you will guide me, I will do as you wish, but for now I'm not sure what to do? My Windows is in danish, so I might have some troubble finding the english terms (the translation is not always logical)

I'm really not sure you have to do this. Yes you had a bugcheck and you had a bad driver.

    That has been resolved.

I would run for a while and if no issue consider this closed. Otherwise follow the link zbook gave you.

PC can't wake fully from sleep or hibernation - gives this error-image.png

The screen snip shows one of the downloads, further down is second. Download them and run. They collect data on your machine which you post to allow diagnostic work to be done. As I said you already know the cause and it satrted right after you install second drive.
