From what I've read about Chrome, the next version will not support an Adobe plugin.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and after installation I noticed that not all of my videos would play. I mainly use the Chrome browser and some videos would play with no problem but others would buffer the video but never start playing. I tried playing the video using Edge and that did not work either. I double checked to make sure I had the correct version of Flash player for Chrome installed and it was up to date.
I did have some issues trying to use Chromecast to stream videos to my tv but that was a firewall issue and once I opened the ports it worked like it should.
In desperation I rolled back to Windows 7 which was the original OS for my computer.
Any suggestions as to what may be causing the video issues?

I am having the same issue. Find a fix yet?

If you're having the issue with Chrome, go into settings, advanced settings and scroll down the the bottom of the page. Look under the System heading (for me it's the 2nd heading from the bottom) and uncheck the 'use hardware acceleration when available' box, that fixed it for me.

I went to Edge, under options went to open page in explorer then you have to download silverlight that solved the problem for me.

disable hardware acceleration on your browser(s), also make sure you have update video players and codec's.

Don't install codec packs. They are useless.

Use a media player with in-built codecs. Media players using mplayer (such as SMPlayer), or media players like VLC contain all the codecs you'd need.

Codec packs are more trouble than they're worth and almost always include malware of some kind.

If the videos are not being played though flash, than flash player obviously isn't the problem. Can you provide a link to the videos that aren't working? Without actually providing that information nobody can help you short of guessing.
It's hit and miss (mostly miss) with my video! Most times cannot get Netflix to play...audio is flawless. Netflix displays an error code saying Oops, there was an error with windows media (center.) Something like that, It did say Windows Media, I am certain of that.

    Any ideas???

I also noticed this error. Unable to decode codec during windows apps store video trailer. I pay 15.00 to download a movie and get an error. Cannot decode codec.

I've been using Shark007's codec pack, and recently was having issues playing YouTube videos and embedded Facebook videos--tonight, I found the reason why. I downloaded a new version of the codec pack, and when I set "Shark007's recommended settings," there was a check box I hadn't noticed before, that asked (among other things) if I planned to watch videos in web browsers. Since I ignored it the first time, the box wasn't checked, so I reset the preferences to defaults, then when I set the recommended settings again, I checked the box, and now, videos play in all my browsers, including IE 11 and Edge. As always, though, YMMV. (Your Mileage May Vary). :)

    Codec packs are important

Codec packs like the K-Lite Pack can be very important because the codecs that come pre installed in a media player do NOT cover everything and there are tools in the K-Lite pack that can enable what the codecs in a player can't . For example, in the past. flv thumbnails would not show in Windows video folder because Microsoft does not support flv files. This has NOTHING to do with codecs in a player like the VLC player.

And that is nonsense that reputable codec packs "are more trouble than they're worth" and they do NOT "almost always contain malware of some kind". You made that up and have no right to misinform people when you clearly don't know what you're talking about and don't do your homework, FIRST. I have been using the Mega K-Lite Pack for about six years and have NEVER had a single problem caused by it , nor have I ever had any malware included in it. You're clearly just making wild accusations and assumptions and if you've had malware in your computer, then it's YOUR job to figure out how it got into your computer, but I guarantee you it didn't come included in any K-Lite Pack.
