"some settings are managed by your system administrator"

Hi, today i got a new m.2 ssd. After installing it i booted to my regular windows installation on another ssd, this is where the problems began.

I tried to change my monitor resolution but the message in the title had appeared and my monitor settings are grayed out, a similiar thing happened in the "privacy" options but this time it said "some settings are hidden or managed by your organization".

My pc is not connected to any network, my user is in the administrators group and i am the only user on this pc.

    What have i allready tried:

    1. Checking all the local group policies in the "local group policy editor", all were marked as "not configured" as i understand they should be.

    2. Running "gpresult /z" in both normal and elecated command prompts, no results out of the ordinary.

    3. Checked for any registry keys i could think of that might cause something like this.

    4. Rebooted several times.

    5. Ran malwarebytes custom scan with all the options enabled and all drives checked, 0 threats identified.

    6. Reinstalling any drivers installed in the last 3 months (GPU and WiFi)

    My pc specs:

    Gigabyte ab350m gaming 3.
    Ryzen 5 1600.
    Rx 470.
    16gb adata ddr4 ram.
    Kingston SUV400S37240G ssd (system drive)
Kingston SA1000M8480G ssd (the new m.2 ssd).
    Windows 10 Pro version 1803, build 17134.407.

EDIT: I also ran "sfc /scannow" and "dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth". Also deleted the folders for group policy in System32.

Hi, here are some ways to reset group policies - please read or scan to the bottom (command line options).

    http://woshub.com/reset-local-group-...gs-in-windows/
How to reset all Local Group Policy settings on Windows 10 | Windows Central

I would not imagine post #2 referring to Windows Update is relevant to this.

Also deleted the folders for group policy in System32.
I have no idea what this does or its significance, now or in the future.

Please confirm the new SSD is just meant to be a data drive - you do not have two Windows installations on disks in your PC.

    And here's the tenforums tutorial:

    from

    - an invaluable and massive resource.

Hi, by the part you quoted i meant exactly what it says to do in the "reset all Group Policy objects using Command Prompt" part of both of the links you offered.

The new SSD is empty as i was planning on cloning the old SSD to it, but i have not done so yet.

It's not an approach I've noted. Thank you for the explanation.

Mikseri123, I had a minor problem a short while ago with the 'some settings are managed by your organisation' message appearing in the 'Apps & Features' section. I tried all the things you've already tried to get rid of it. The only thing that I hadn't yet tried was the 'Reset Local Group Policy settings' in the 'Tools' section of Winareo Tweaker (freeware). This actually did the trick and got rid of it. I still see this message in the 'Lock Screen' settings section, but this is fair enough as I have the lock screen disabled.

Just a thought that this might be of some help....
