Why do the icons in my start menu look really ugly and pixelated?

If it helps, I just finished building this computer, everything is working as it should but this is nagging at me.

This isn't happening anywhere else and this can't possibly be my monitor since I captured it here, any suggestions?

That's not the Start Menu, that's Windows Search. And this is normal as the icon is of a specific resolution and looks jagged like that when its squashed to fit a grid size smaller than its native resolution.

Indeed, mine looks the same. You needed to include more detail in your image

    Looks fine here too

Put your most frequently used Apps on the Taskbar.

PolarNettles, I'm at build 17763.196 1809. What build are you at. Enter winver from a Run box to see.

    My screenshot was from 1803.

I just checked on another system with 1809 and it does indeed have the lower-quality icon like in the OP.

I just looked at mine as well.

I'm with the latest version of Windows, and mine also looks "low-budget" style. I guess it's normal for everyone after some update that did that to it.
