    automatic function for photo transfers

I don't necessarily want all photos transferred to my pc whenever I plug in a flash drive. If I choose to disable AUTO DRIVE on win10, will that take care of it?
also, how do I RE-ENABLE it should I wish to? I should then be able to pick which ones I want downloaded to my pc. Yes? Thanks

I think I know what to to do. If I rt clk on onedrive icon on taskbar a settings window opens. Here you can uncheck auto save to one drive. Not sure if that's the right thing or not. I'll try it when I put a flash drive in.

You might set the AutoPlay options for the device to "take no action" as shown in this-

Then, if you want to copy the files to another drive, you can do it from File Explorer.

After I replied, I got thinking about it some more. You might want to chose a setting, such as the "ask me........" one in the event you ever want to boot from a flash drive. Of course, a USB device would have to be set to boot before a SSD/hard drive in the MBR-BIOS.

    Glad I could help.

Hmm. So ask me refers to a jump drive only? I have an HP pocket drive that I use for backup. Will that not open unless I change the setting on the one drive to download everything? Thanks.

Since the instructions tell you to set AutoPlay to On for all media and devices, what ever setting you make in the Removable Drive section will apply to all. In the AutoPlay section of Control Panel, you can further refine what to do depending on the content of the drive.

Best way to answer your question is to give it a try. You can always change the settings.
