The Media creation tool has two options for saving the install media. One is to create it on a USB (which is what you have done successfully, from your screenshot). The other is to save as an ISO file (with a *.iso extension) which could be burned to a DVD later. It is also possible to create a usb like yours from a .iso.

You made a USB directly using the MCT so any references above to the ISO file don't apply to you. You already have the install media on a USB that is capable of booting in bot UEFI or Legacy mode.

So, last friday Morning I managed to ring 999 and to gasp out my address to the Ambulance service who despatched a fastbus to my place as I lay suffocating in fresh air as my tubes swelled, constricting the amount of air I could drag into my lungs. It was so bad that my Ventolin inhaler, which normally kicks these sort of sudden attacks of breathlessness into the high grass) did nowt to open up the nasty little tuboids, buggers that they are.

While I never could say that I was on the point of blacking out, my balance went and I sat down hard on the floor and I was dizzy as buggery by the time the Ambiwlans had arrived and got me on a nebuliser and steroids and stuff and hauled me off to the Hospital for assessment and disposal.

I am VERY pleased to say that I had also had the presence of mind to use my mobile to ring so I could open the locked front door ready and, by design, collapse further up the hall in front of the button that opened the the big front door, three floors down, when someone rang the button for your flaty.

This saved precious time when they arrived and I actually wonder that, as I was the only person in the block not working and so usually the only person at home at that time, how they would have gained access at all. They MUST have some protocol for it as there must be many elderly people, living alone who could find themselves in this scenario but were unable to unlock doors etc.

Buggered if I'm going to die stupid (which may sound a little ironic as it was my own stupidity in smoking for the last Fifty years that gave me the Emphysema that put me on the floor in the first place, but, hey......who's perfick ????)

Anyhow, I will now call this thread closed and ask the Mods (or any other person of influence) to lock it because.......

First off it's MY thread, so stuff it, it's my choice

Second off, I am starting a new thread using the things I have learned from peeps kind enough to comment and we shall be revisiting this ('cos I'm still NOT UP AND running) and be working our way to success with a copy of Windows.iso on a USB Stick and access to the Bios and all tyhat good stuff.

So, more fun to come, boys and girsl, but I may need a day or two to get my head out of the shed and get my breathing back to normal.


And also, of course, and all joking aside, is the REAL reason for asking for it to be closed, is that I don't want peeps to reply to posts and, because I'm not following that thread any longer, not getting the courtesy of a reply.
