Warning: 1809 Update still has issues

Please do not bury this in a technical sub-forum, this needs to be in the General issues. It's not a technical issue at this point, that has been resolved, but again 1809 messes up some of my drivers. Microsoft needs to see this and it needs to get the maximum exposure and maximum awareness at least in this community. It was a disaster in October and I thought, incorrectly, that they fixed it. Broke my system again yesterday and I am getting very annoyed. I do not need any technical assistance.

Warning: The 1809 update still has serious problem. Don't bury this thread as you would be doing a disservice to the community. Maybe even consider creating a sticky post. Because if I had see this, I perhaps would have delayed the update.

I think at this point it's more of a management issue, don't miss the forest for the trees.

    my drivers
That's certainly the key to issues you are having but I'd wager a large percentage of Win10 Users are not having those issues, I am not on a dozen machines. And they are different models and ages of Dell and HP plus wife's Toshiba, newest I have is a 26 month old ASUS Desktop.

A computer-age-old thing is that even though someone buys seemingly identical computers it takes only one small change in settings, programs or added features to make them different from each other, things will not always work the same.

I did the 1809 update in October, first time, and it did not delete my files like it did to some users. So, YMMV but do you really want to gamble whether it will delete it or not? This needs exposure to figure just how of a widespread issue it is. The fact most people did not have this issue is of little consolation to me.
    This is unacceptable.

I, as well as others, need to understand just how widespread of an issue it is. Everybody usually thinks "It's just me". Which may - or may not be true.

And you've used the Feedback Hub to let the publisher know?

Hi, your PC appears to have drivers for Win 10.
Support For GT80 2QE Titan SLI | Laptops - The best gaming laptop provider | MSI Global

However, MS may change the drivers (including the low level drivers intrinsic to the OS) delivered with each build. This can present a risk.

    a. Did you upgrade manually (at your own risk) or via Windows Update?
    b. Has MSI approved your PC for use with 1809?
    c. Do you know which drivers are problematic? Are your problems related to the drivers intrinsic to the OS or those available from MSI's site?

How exactly would MSI approve usage with any version of Windows 10? I would not know the answer to that question, nor would anyone - they do not advertise this. I can pose this question on their community forum.

I have auto-update hours and it started doing 1809. I thought that update was remediated and all the defects taken out of it.

a.MSI would test it on the PC
    b. many major manufacturers maintain lists of PCs approved for use with Win10.
    c. Some of those split those lists into builds.

Certainly worth asking and whether MSI publishes such a list.

You need to separate in your mind issues of the basic OS, and the millions of different driver configurations that must be maintained. MS cannot test build 1809 with each and every PC configuration to which it could be delivered.

    There is this list (2015)
    Windows 10 MDA Microsites

Hopefully there's an up to date one somewhere.

As long as you feel that "Microsoft needs to see this" ... I think there's more they should see ...

None of this frazzle-poop would exist if only we could limit updates to ONLY security patches.
I don't need feature updates. Ever.

Someday I'll get Windows 11. Maybe five years from now. Then I'll accept the new "features".
    Until then NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
    I don't need more features.

Win 10 already has more features than I need.
    So did Win 7.
    So did Win XP.
    I don't need new anything.

I wouldn't mind new features if I could just ignore them ... and for years I mostly did.
But when these "features" break the system ... well those are features I just cannot ignore.

    Opinions?
