I think most of us with notebooks are aware that our notebooks have modified drivers for some of the hardware. I have driver updates blocked and that allows me to update drivers as Asus or Dell offer them or sometimes the hardware manufacturers themselves will have an update. Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 | Tutorials will show you how to do the same.
I seem to recall a number of feature updates that has broken quite a few systems, including OEMs' supported systems. More specifically, I had some clients, whose Dell desktops/laptop would not boot after the 1709 feature update.
If you separate the basic OS and its monthly or so security updates, there seems to be much less issues related to these updates. As others have stated, MS should allow people to opt in for security updates only. Instead of spoon feeding everyone the newest Candy Crush, other apps, etc., that most people don't want. Just my dime...
I never see those. I have those blocked.Instead of spoon feeding everyone the newest Candy Crush, other apps, etc., that most people don't want. Just my dime...
Do we have a solution for this problem?
Other than reinstalling the driver every time?
How?never see those. I have those blocked
Apparently you are shifting the focus from MS to writers of these drivers. Well, who produces 18xx series of updates? Hm.Microsoft has nothing to do with this forum. It is a known issue with the 18xx series updates that some drivers are not ready for MS to allow for updates
Everything was working just fine before 1809, I don't need it or want it and don't want it shoved down my throat but MS treats my computer like a cell phone and forces the update with no way to disable it. Yeah, I know all these tricks, you can play with install times and metered bandwidth and registry, install 10 Pro, etc. Frustrated with that nonsense.
Now this sounds like MSI is responsible or the Wifi manufacturer/driver issuer, which is absurd.
I block the games with UVK. I have the paid one but I 'think" you can do it with the free
This might help as well.

Interesting, so what is it and where do I get it?
.block the games with UVK
I have that app that disables privacy violations of Win10, including Cortana, and other stuff, need to look if it encompasses that. I forgot the name of it.
No. Microsoft has zero to do with this forum. It is a private forum ran by those who are not affiliated with MS in any way. Anything discussed in here is peer to peer. You may own the computer, but license the OS and anything else you are running on that computer from the company or individuals that developed it. That means that if the developer wishes to no longer support that software, they can pull it. The same with your cellphone.
