    ByteCodeGenerator

Hi. I was in System32 (I shouldn't be there) and clicked on the "ByteCodeGenerator." Nothing happened. What did I do and did this alter or store anything on my system?

Naughty, you should 'look but not touch'. Don't worry, we've all been there....

You ran an executable that is normally only run when installing a UWP Windows App. In normal use it would have been called with parameters defining the App being installed. Running it without the required parameters it would at the most have just reported an error, maybe recorded in the Event Viewer or a log file, then exited without doing anything. More on its purpose here...

Ha. Thanks as always for easing my concern. I have issues with not touching. I think I ran the .exe about three times just to "make sure" it didn't do anything. Ugh. I also ran "Bubbles" but that was harmless then quickly closed file explorer and ran away from the computer.

Thanks for the link! Interesting to see how that works. Bit off-topic I remember when I did not like Windows apps. Now I have to say with their functionality (mainly missing features from non UWP versions/bad UI's) being hugely improved, the auto-updating, ease of install/uninstall some are really good (Netflix and Mp3 tag to name two). I'd need to look but would think it is also a cleaner, more complete install/uninstall. Also MS apps like To-Do and Sticky Notes have been helpful. After some digging I found the only ways I can get 1080p or higher and Dolby Atmos on Netflix for PC are either through the W10 app or through Netflix on Edge.
