    Can't See Hidden Files

I ran into a recent problem where I can no longer see hidden folders or files. Yesterday or the day before I could but now I can't . On the drive and folder my hidden folder is in, when I go to re-select the View and then click the Hidden Item box, the menu closes without checking the box. When I go into Control Panel, File Explorer Option, View and then go to select the Show Hidden Files, Folder, and Drive, I can select the radio button but it doesn't save/ work. I came across a post suggesting going into registry to ensure the correct values for Hidden were in SHOWALL "CheckValue" = 1 and "DefaultValue" = 2 and NOHidden where both values were 2 & 2. They were. I even turned off my antivirus to see if that was blocking something. No change. Any suggestion would be great. Thanks

Also try this: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ SuperHidden section and check the CheckedValue key, which must also have a DWORD type with a value of "0". If the key does not correspond to the DWORD type, then delete it and create a new key of the desired type.

Unfortunately, that is showing 0. So, I'm still looking for a solution. Thanks

Have you tried using the .BAT file ( Show_hidden_files_folders_and_drives.bat or Show_protected_operating_system_files.bat which has settings to show both hidden as well as protected system files ) from this tutorial to see if it works ?

The bat file did the trick. Still wondering why I couldn't click the boxes before to show/hide the files. Oh well, it worked. Thanks
