Windows 10, dual boot second os stuck on automatic repair.

Hey, i'm currently running windows 10 dual boot, one of the windows versions is for my insider one.

Can boot into one of both OS, not the insider version, but when i try to boot up in the second one.
Im stuck on preparing to automatic repair or something like that. It restarts, and again. Automatic repair etc.
It launches, black screen with a cursor. And then i have to turn off my computer using the button @the case.

What to do?

Blackscreen with cursor could be console (command prompt). Looks like your boot menu is corrupted, or your Insider partition is corrupted.

Install Macrium reflect free (you should have it anyway

) and follow this tutorial:

If you don't want to install Macrium, there is an option with Kyhi's Windows 10 bootable rescue disk. Boot from it (make USB bootable drive) start Macrium reflect and run "Fix boot menu".

You could do the same from console with bcdedit and series of commands. not sure about your skills.

I suggest making a clone using Macrium Reflect.

From the working drive to the non working one.

Dual booting may indicate it is on the same drive, separate partitions. Hence, the suggestion to fix and correct the boot menu bcdedit records. Using Macrium or a series of commands.

I use the following designation, my primary drive is c: and my mirror is f:

so you want to run:

bcdboot C:\Windows /s F:

then view your boot options. Also EasyBCD is not a bad program. All this after Reflect.

fast booting is not compatible with dual booting. Be sure to have unchecked that in power options.

Fast startup can be problematic, and is one of the first things to disable. Especially if you have SSD (no difference in boot time).

Dual boot is not affected more or less with this function. As you always have to restart computer to access boot menu (or to boot to another system directly), and by restarting, fast startup doesn't have any effect on it.

Fast startup is involved only when shutting down, and starting from that state (or can be when putting to sleep and wake from sleep). Not when restarting.
