Privacy settings grayed out after update to 1803

    Hi all,

I have multiple machines in my organization that have all privacy settings grayed out(Some settings are hidden by your organization).
The worst is that all settings are set to "Off", so no microphone/camera/notifications and etc.
These are domain-joined machines, but I can confirm that this is not a gpo, and it happened after upgrading to 1803.
I've been trying to enable the Mic/Camera via registry/group policy, but nothing works so far.
Also tried to reset all privacy settings with app called O&O Shutup - no go again.

    Any Ideas?

Yes there can be a GPO in place on a Domain, which can not allow certain items to be available to users.

On the computer. It is on a Domain, so it would have a AD/GPO that would restrict it. I can restrict those devices and others through a GPO on Jumpcloud if I wish. The user would be unable to reactivate.

Again, he said "These are domain-joined machines, but I can confirm that this is not a gpo". That seems pretty definitive to me. He's looking for a non-GPO cause from what I read. I wish I had an answer but I don't.

Since it is locked down to not allow Camera and MIC for security reasons only the gods of IT did.

Blocked using Hardware ID through AD policy. How to enforce Device Restrictions with a GPO | The Solving

Rich you are a God and know quite a bit. Of course there are times that I even have to search, but I know this one with Hardware restrictions, since I have been playing with the policies with Jump Cloud You open up GPO in Administrative tools and they are right there. For Mac OS, it is a bit different. The policies go into "Profiles" in System Settings, which makes things a lot easier in figuring out what Policies are assigned.

zTruker, this works for any hardware device. You can even restrict it to only company issued devices allowable. Use Group Policy to disable the Ethernet of DisplayLink docking stations – DisplayLink Support

You don't mention if you are the Administrator for the organization.

bro67, I may be making a bad assumption, that he is and admin. I don't know much at all about Domain administration, just what I can find via Google and what I read so I think you are up on me there. Thanks for keeping me honest (ish)

Sorry for not being clear enough - I am the domain Admin.
If there was gpo in place, I would now. I even thought that I might be going crazy, so I double checked all policies that are applying to these machines. I even moved some machines in Exception OU(No policies applied), but no luck.
I have other machines with 1803(freshly imaged, not updated from 1709/1703) - neither of those machines have this issue.
I believe that for some reason some registries got messed up during the update, or maybe a service?
