Can't change color of keyboard icon in Language Bar in Windows 10?

    Hi all!

In Windows 7, when you add keyboards to the Language Bar, you can select a color for the icon that represents each keyboard. This is useful for switching between languages (eg. US English - blue, US International - red), so you can tell which keyboard you're currently using.

I looked at all the settings for Windows 10, and can't find anywhere you can do this.

Is it hidden somewhere else in Windows 10? Or has that feature been completely removed?

Hi, never heard of or seen this for Win 10. MS as you may have discovered has removed various options to give users flexibility in configuring the GUI, although some are still feasible.

I seem to recall MS adopting this outllne white style for such icons.

Hmm - a shame how dumbed-down they made Windows 10. I'm a software developer, and appreciate more options, not fewer. Ah well.

The Win 7 dialogue shown here

went in Win 8. Despite that, some possibilities remain where the registry keys are still present.

It is still possible to do things like this:

(uses 3 3rd party tools - 2 free, 1 a few euros or free with limitations and a couple of SMACC or registry settings)

and if you browse the Customisation section you will see examples of what others have done by different means.
