For any files that are not backed up some options include:
    a) moving the drive to another computer or HD enclosure
    b) Using Ubuntu or Kyhi boot rescue to move files from one drive to another.

To recover any files related to partition issues:
Download Recuva | Recover deleted files, free!

We need to see the risk structure from disk management or free partitions software. It sounds that the system partition has gone wrong as that's were it boots from before handing over to c. It may only require the system or uefi partition rebuilding to get it working. Have you booted from an install DVD and tried a repair?
