Organising and uploading photos to other websites.

    PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP!
I am on the point of giving up with microsoft for ever because NOTHING works and everything that is meant to be an improvement is a complication!

OK: ALL I want to do is to upload pictures, ideally to photobox but dropbox or google photos would do because I know where I can go from there.

BUT it is much easier to organise photos within Photos rather than in Pictures (via file explorer) because the latter makes many folders and displays as thumbnails. Within Photos a) the pictures are displayed larger and b) it's easy to make albums.

BUT from there the only place to uypload them to is One Drive which is about the most useless thing Microsoft has ever provided. It doesn't even save the albums with their title!!! AND from there there is no way to upload them further except to create a Sway (whatever that is!) Why can't I just copy a whole album into dropbox? And why does an album not just display as a set of pictures but insists on being a slideshow???? Grrrrr! I hate Windows at the moment. but I have been battling wiwth this nearly all day. Trying to create a photobook and a PowerPoint presentation, both using pictures that I just can't get to go where I want them!

    Hi,
Albums are nothing but folders with pictures in them
Easiest way to sort is by naming in the assortment one wants them to show / name .0001.....
Yes file explorer shows thumbnails which can be enlarged by holding down the CTRL and simply use the scroll wheel to increase or decrease it's size

Yes usually clicking on a file will open a viewer as yes a slide show
Hit the spacebar keyboard key will pause.
Arrow left or right will go to that next file.

Online/ file sharing sites are a dime a dozen.

You are having problems because you are not doing this the correct way. Has nothing to do with changes made to operating systems, previous systems worked exactly the same way.

In order to upload photos to something like Google Photos, Dropbox, etc. you must work from within that site, not from the folder/album etc. on the computer.

So you just open Google Photos for instance, hit the Upload Button and a box on your computer will open. If it isn't your Pictures then of course you will have to go to that location. From there you CAN upload Albums/Folders containing a number of pictures. Now one they are uploaded you must designate that they should be stored together in an album and you must give it a name. Photos generally are listed individually by the date they were taken. Mine all sorted automatically by date without in put from me.

    How to upload to Photobox:
    1. Go to http://www.photobox.co.uk.
    2. Sign In to your account.
    3. Click on upload from the navbar at the top of the site.
    4. Select Computer when asked to choose the location of your photos.
    5. Click on Get photos from your computer.
    6. Navigate to where your photos are located in the File Upload window.
    7. Reap the rewards!

The process is pretty much the same for Dropbox and Google Photos.
