I had a small area (toolbar) in the left side of my taskbar, next to the Start button. I used it to store shortcuts to my most-used programs. It also stored my "show desktop" icon, but forgot where that's stored. Somehow, it was removed and I want to restore or create a new one. How is that done? Thanks!

I use STabLauncher (free, categorised, low RAM use, autohides, full drag 'n drop, appearance customisable) for this sort of thing. Rather neat. There are better tab shapes than they show on the site.

dalchina is correct - STablauncher is simply exquisite. I found it (by accident) a couple of years ago and it is far better than all the others I tried before that. It is no longer being developed, but that's OK - it is perfect just the way it is.
I did send an email to the developers a few months ago and they said they would fix any problems that might get reported. But there haven't been any in a very long while.
Thanks! I got my original Quick Launch toolbar back, as in the attached screen. Then, it was a little tricky to find the settings to show only the icons. You have to careful as to where you right-click. Now, however, the only thing left is to remove the "Quick Launch" label on the left, which is next to the Start button.
Thanks. That's basically what I did. However, the tutorial doesn't state how to remove the "Quick Launch" label.
