    DistributedCOM issue

    Morning All,

    We have been having an ongoing issue with Microsoft Access 2016 on Windows 10 lately. When using an Access Database which is hosted on a network shared folder, there is an intermittent issue with "Error Code - 3043 - Network Access was interrupted, please close the database and open it again"

    Now in regards to this issue, I have done several things to fix this including physically change network cables such as:
    * Re-Mapped network drives
    * Specified network location for the Access Shortcut
    * Delete System.accb file in AppData so new one can be recreated
    * Applied GPO's which UPDATE the drive mapping policy for this user

    Now, our domain controllers are 2008 however i don't suspect this would cause an issue as such.

    Computer Management logs have indicated SEVERAL DistributedCOM (DCOM) issues on EVERY Windows 10 PC/Laptop that we have, however this is not the case on Windows 7?

    Issue General -
    The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39}
    and APPID
    {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39}
    to the user DOMAIN\User.Name SID (S-1-5-21-2335946279-3716614961-2904944128-2670) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    I know the fixes for these DCOM issues which are registry changes and updates but i just want a clear indication on what this DCOM issue actually is, and could it be the cause of our MSACCESS network interruption issue?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Wrote a sticky thread for TF about this that summarizes Microsoft's explanation for this and points to the original source documents. Long story short: this specific error occurs by design in Windows 10 and does not indicate system problems or pathologies. I'm guessing but I don't think this particular error has anything to do with DCOM 10016. MS Answers says the solution to this problem is to close the database, then open it again as documented at SOLUTION TO ERROR Your network access was interrupted. To - Microsoft Community.
