    Can't boot to ISO

I made a Windows 10 iso from a bootable usb, and when I did, it was bootable, but it gave an error. 0xc000000f

Really? Most of us make a bootable usb from an ISO, not the other way round. Did you really mean exactly what you said?

Also, your screenshot is in a window, which is not what you'd see when you boot a PC (which you can't do from an ISO anyway).

The only plausible explanation (and the only way I can think of to boot from an ISO file) is if you are running this in a VM. If so, then rather than letting us guess, can you tell us exactly what you are doing? Starting with:

    • what tools did you use to make the ISO from a usb?
    • what form of VM are you using?
    • how did you configure the virtual disks (size, type, etc.)?
    • anything else you'd like to add?

EasyBCD will let you boot an ISO file. I think it will only set it up on legacy BIOS or in CSM mode, though.

There's a lot going on here that we need to be told about before we can help. We don't even know what Host machine is being used....

QEMU is a generic and open source machine emulator and virtualizer.

Good catch! It does look like @Lumine is trying to run it in a virtual machine!

I can't respond to everything, so I am only responding to Bree's question.

what tools did you use to make the ISO from a usb? Rufus 3.1 to make the usb, Imgburn to make the iso. Used etfsboot.com as the boot file.
what form of VM are you using? QEMU
how did you configure the virtual disks (size, type, etc.)? It configures them automatically.
anything else you'd like to add? uh no

Did QEMU create a gpt or mbr partition layout?

Are you booting in uefi mode with mbr partitions (or legacy bios mode with gpt partitions). Either of those may explain that error, @NavyLCDR may know more on this.

So why did you go from an ISO to a USB, then back to an ISO?
