Yes I followed option 2, downloaded the reg hack and ran it all dialog were successful however nothing changes on my file explorer. All folders still there and I have closed all explorer windows, still nothing changed. I am sure something in my registry changed because it said it was successful but my explorer windows didn't change all folders still there.
Did you download file using "Save as" and save to desktop then right click the file choosing "Merge" ?

If nothing changed try a reboot.

I use "save link as" to desktop and selected merge and it worked!!!!

I just downloaded it earlier and double clicked on the regedit file and clicked run. It didn't work so I guess I should have read the instructions closer rathet that see a download link and click it to download it.

    Thanks !!!!!!!

Sorry for my confusion about your post however you are commenting on the post above you which I had not read yet that's what you're posted make sense to me. I did try to follow the registry hack, I downloaded the 64-bit version because that's what my system is I ran it and nothing changed so I did something wrong.
For Step 2 you should have downloaded 64-bit_Remove_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC.reg. The you simply double click on it or right click on it and select Merge. Click Yes or OK as needed. That will merges the changes into your registry.

Reboot, and that should do it.

I did that twice and it didn't work. When I right clicked the 64 bit download link and "save file location" to desktop and then right clicked and selected merge then it worked fine. Double clicking on the file didn't work both times I tried it.

No, when I did it using the "save file location" to desktop and right clicked and merge it worked. it worked I didn't have to reboot. The important part is it did work the way I said above.

Great! I agree it's nice to have them gone though. Makes a cleaner drive display.
