How to set different values for screen timeout and screen lock?

Well, here is the problem. The monitors got powered down when set, the screen locked engaged when it was supposed to but upon entering the password, one of the 2 monitors failed to wake up. It became completely unresponsive. The power button did nothing.

Do you think I need a driver for this NEC LCD?

It works just does not wake up from sleep. I also have a Dell 4K monitor that wakes up from sleep just fine. The native built-in 18" LCD wakes up just fine also.

The only thing that fixes it is a reboot.

The NEC 271W Multisync is connected via MiniDisplayPort. The Dell is connected via HDMI.

The NEC is the one that does not wake up.

I just patched both of them. Meaning installed drivers. In the control panel/devices and printers/ they both showed up as Generic monitors but no more. Now they are actually showing up as correct model numbers. So this is encouraging. Or not. I will run my test again overnight and see if both monitors wake up in the morning.

Again, I set the screen saver to 60, screen power off to 30 minutes and the registry is still 3600 (60 mins).

there is apparently no point to the screen saver as it does not save any electricity wattage-wise and LCDs don't have the burn-in that CRTs had.

The only meaningful thing is the display power off or so it seems.

Basically the problem is, while the display power off is working as designed, one of the monitors, the NEC Multisync fails to wake up from shutdown. Dell does, NEC does not. Nothing you can do to fix it other than a reboot.

So the power off feature is not usable.

I set the screensaver to 60 min the same as the Registry value and the Power off display number to 20 mins.

Until that issue of NEC not powering back on is resolved, I have to abandon that whole project.

The FAQ needs to be fixed, the registry is not working.
