    Corrected Error in Sizes.

My fault, Corrected Error in Sizes.

Clarification of how I use my laptop:

Even though I have over 4+TB of data, 15 to 30 gb is most I ever use & most of these are my basic research files.
Imagine a Doctor's office with all those patient medical record folders, the Doctor needs only a physical office, staff, equipment, etc & 1 folder to handle 1 patient.

My 4+ TB of research data is my "patient records, folders" & the 47 gb is the size of my office, etc. When I want to find some previous data, it's easy because all folders & files are color coded. It may take a small amt of time but my syst is still much faster the many large such as Apple & Amazon, Dell. I've called these companies many times & when I get thru the their phone tree, and get a person & then I ask a question, time just tick tocks...

I move files/projects back & forth using Teracopy & have been using 256 gb on my laptop for yrs with no problem.

However I could use a faster 256 SSD. Any suggestions?

How do I remove an UPLOADED image from the warehouse?

    Regards & Thanks,

We need to know the exact model of the laptop to know what kind of SSD can be installed in it.

    NavyLCDR'

Best I can tell: MSI Power Pro J5:16 business laptop, Laptop Mod#: 1758, 8gb ram. Would send the ID plate on back of laptop but I could delete some images I uploaded.

for some reason real specific tech info about PC's is hard to come by, so many options, hidden info, etc. Ive been checking the net to no avail.

Yeah, it looks like standard 2.5" SATA 3. The top of the line 2.5" SATA 3 SSD is probably going to be Samsung 860 PRO. I doubt you would notice the difference, though, if you went with Sandisk Ultra 3D for about 1/2 the price.

Why go with the MSI? Are you currently in the UK? You only get "Free" delivery if you are in the Eastern Union "EU", not if you are shipping to the US. Look at Asus for your motherboard and check out the deals on Newegg.

SSD's are cheap these days. Go with the Samsung EVO series, 850 if you want a good low cost SSD. As for the analogy about the doctor's office. You are talking to those on here that understand more about data storage and how computers work, especially those like Ztruker.

    going to W10

    Hi,

The only reason I posted the UK site because It was th only site I could find. Tried to get a tech layout from MSI but they wouldn't, just like Apple doesn't have an Operation manual or cheat sheet for the items under SETTINGS. Many companies today do not publish enough info about their product esp if its technical. Same goes for the Govt. That's why I follow Dr. Johnson (Tattler & Spectator).

I'm just trying to find out what is contained technically in my current laptop so I can run W10.

    Regards & Thanks,
    klxdrt10

PS: Rite now I have my hands full getting my laptop working properly since I tried to install Macrium Reflect.

For an MSI laptop?!? Did I miss something? Did ASUS buy or merge with MSI?
