    update to 1809

    Greetings
I'm not sure if I'm posting to the correct department.
How do I know if I can safely update to ver.1809 (I'm now in 1803) without damaging my printer?
I upgraded on November 18 and had to fight with my printer (HP 4500) who stopped printing until I rolled back to 1803.
I understand that 1809 was called back.
Is there a new 1809 0r 1810+ that does not damage HP printers?
    thank you

@zivshosh, the roll out of 1809 was paused due to a bug that could delete user's file on upgrading. That bug was fixed and an updated 1809 was released on 13 November.

If you upgraded on the 18th you would have got the updated version 1809, so it looks like you'll have to wait for a fix from HP for your printer driver before it will work in 1809. You are not alone in having this problem...

HP don't have new setup for my printer. it is not ENVY but HP Officejet 4500 G510n
I fought for few days, following all kinds of advices, cleaning completely my pc including services, spooler and every shred of HP in the registry. The setup stops complaining that some address in ProgramsData is inaccessible. And this is when I logged in as Administrator, ran the setup program as administrator and took ownership of ProgramsData and Program Files (x86) where I saw traces of HP
So it must be HP fault since there is nothing else I could do.
Meanwhile I'm back in 1803, cancelled updates and my printer sings....
The only problem is when can I receive an update without damaging my printer
    Thank you

and another issue: updating to 1809 prevented entering gmail from firefox (only chrome and internet explorer)
so it's not a fine update. Microsoft neglected few items. Updates should be smooth and I should not know about them and continue working as usual. This update is certainly not smooth.

You have W10 Pro, there`s no reason to rush and install 1809.

    Wait a few months

And what do you mean, it damaged your printer ?

I'm gonna have to rollback to 1803. 1809 is very laggy, and it should not be with my computers specs.

Actually,HP does have a printer update.I have the same printer(all in one) and it works fine.Did not in the beginning but a couple of
reinstalls and has worked for at least 6 months now.Check the website, seems to be two driver updates.I tried them both and one of
them worked, can't tell you which one though.Trouble is they seem to be the same file but they are not.
