    Action Centre icon greyed out

    Hi,
The Action Centre icon is missing from the system tray and the switch appears on but is greyed out in the taskbar settings
Both the group policy & the registry appear correct
The Win key + A key combination does nothing and neither does clicking the 'Edit your quick actions' link (which is red?) in Notifications & actions settings (Above here it says 'Some settings are hidden or managed by your organisation)?
It suggests a group policy is enforced!
Not certain when this behaviour started
    Details are 1809 18282.1000
    Any ideas?

Hi I've done a quick Google search for you using
"action centre disabled by group policy"

    and found (first page result)
Enable or Disable Action Center in Windows 10 | Tutorials

    - which may help to check further - hope it's different to what you've looked at.

If not, such a search may offer other results.

Thank you dalchina but the policy was the one I checked and it was set as Not configured. However, I have just enabled it, rebooted , set it to Not configured and rebooted and it fixed it so I guess there was corruption somewhere

Action Center enable switch greyed out

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I've seen some recent posts here and there with complicated solutions, that didn't work.
Issue: Action Centre is hidden, and won't start with Win+A
Changing registry with gpedit etc, doesn't help.
MS Support suggest a creating a new user profile, or various levels of reset/reinstall (no surprises there)
DISM restorehealth and SFC probably won't help, as it's an issue with the user profile.

As I didn't want to trash or replace the existing profile, I eventually hit on this solution:
Create a new user profile, and establish that Action centre appears and works as expected, in particular that Settings - Personalisations - Themes - Taskbar - Turn System Icons On or Off now has the "Action Center" switch active (and ON)
Change the Action Center switch to OFF
Log out of the new User, and go back into the previously defective User profile.
The Action Center switch will now be available (not greyed out)

Hope this may be of use to others, I wasted too much time on trying complicated fixes.
