    Custom Libraries

In the default libraries there is a 'new folder' option. in custom libraries there isn't. It seems I can only add already existing folders to a custom library. Is that correct?

    What I wanted to do:

    The default libraries are

    3D Objects
    Desktop
    Documents
    Downloads
    Music
    Pictures
    Videos

I wanted to add Movies. While I can create this custom library, I cannot create a new folder in this library, I can only add an already existing folder from, for example, the Documents folder.

    "Is that correct?" - Yes

A library is merely an index of a group of folders that you want easy access to looking through.
There are no folders or even files in a library. There are merely cross-references to folders & files that exist elsewhere.
That's why you do not create folders in a library but just add existing folders.

    So then

    3D Objects
    Desktop
    Documents
    Downloads

    Music
    Pictures
    Videos

are not considered libraries on a pc?

I did not say that. The point is that libraries are a means of presenting views of data not a means of holding data.

Alright, then where are the files that are organized in the default libraries really located (held)?

I had no trouble making a new library. That's how I figured out custom libraries don't work like the default libraries. Had I known custom libraries are just aggregators, I would not even have bothered with creating one.
