Please help. Accidentally undid a new folder and lost all my photos

I had recently taken all the photos off of my phone to put into a folder on my PC when I was done I right clicked and for some reason clicked undo new. I tried Ctrl+y and Ctrl+Z no luck. I tried restoring previous version on the file and no luck. I checked my recycle bin and no luck. Since I used Cut and Paste to move the photos they are no longer on my phone as well. Is there any way I can recover these photos? From now on I will only be copy and pasting until I'm sure everything is safe.

Looks like that's a legitimate Windows bug. Unfortunately from what I can see from Process Monitor the files truly are getting deleted when you undo the New Folder. You'll have to use data recovery software to try and restore the files from either your phone or your PC.

The best thing is to stop using the drive that you copied the files to - otherwise the filesystem may reclaim the space previously used by the deleted files. Then plug the drive into another machine and run a recovery tool, such as Free Download Data Recovery Software of 2018 for File Recovery - EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free .

If the above software costs to restore, you can try the free app Recuva Download Recuva | Recover deleted files, free!
