What did HP communicate about the hardware?
And what did they write about the computer logs?

For the failure to upgrade they can be troubleshooted.

For the older PC you can open a thread in the applicable forum for the failure to upgrade.

It would be useful to have at least one week of log files to view.

Then run the BETA log collector and post a zip into the thread.

What did HP communicate about the hardwareWhat did HP communicate about the hardware?
And what did they write about the computer logs?

Below is is the total of their communications:

    Replaced Parts: No parts repaced
    Repair Actions:
    Driver Update and/or REloaded
    Reinstalled Operating System
    Performed Extensive Testing
No mention of the info I sent them. I bet they thought a nobody that knows anything gave them the info and totally ignored it.

I'm going to go ahead and install the base of s oftware that I need, and continue on what they sent me.

After I do some of the installs and work on it today and/or tomorrow, I'll do the routine of gathering logs and upload it here.

I'll leave troubleshooting the other PC (I actually have 2 of that age running here), and open a separate thread on it. It will be harder listing components...it is one I built back then with parts from Newegg.

To find the parts for the other PC > download and install Speecy: Speccy - Free Download

It would be useful to allow the computer to generate log files before posting the BETA log collector
The warranty period was of concern.
You have had it checked out by HP so that should give you some comfort.

After a week of logs they can be reviewed.
There are tests that can be ran as needed.

    Update

Things appear to be going good since the upgrade to the OS...

Not sure what to think about the HPCommrecovery error. It shows it was happening to them before they sent the PC back to me. Does not happen every day.

When I Googled it, there was comments in an HP response that it is not a critical file. Said to contact HP to reinstall Windows.

I did just run the Hp Support Assistant and found this, which I will update after I finish this post.

Please run the BETA log collector either tomorrow or Thursday and post a new zip into the thread.

    1) Look for this dump file > zip > post a share link into the thread

    PoW32kWatchdog-20190112-1013.dmp

    2) In case it cannot be found > download and install Everything: voidtools

    3) On the HP website > download and install all Intel chip set drivers > then perform windows updates > then download and install: Intel driver and support assistant > run the software > report into the thread any updates
    IntelĀ® Driver & Support Assistant

    4) Run HD Tune: (free edition)
    https://www.hdtune.com/
Post images into the thread for results on these tabs:
    a) Health (SMART)
    b) Benchmark
    c) Full error scan

    5) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    6) sfc /scannow
    7) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    8) chkdsk /scan
    9) wmic RecoverOS set AutoReboot = False
    10) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    11) Step #9 should modify the startup and recovery system failure settings so that automatically restart is unchecked

I have found and uploaded the dmp file -> LINK

I had already done some of the updates you mention (after having posted the log file), but need to continue. I'll post back once finished.

Looks to me like the same issues we've been chasing...I'm not surprised.
