Does anything work

I wanted to install Office 2003 since it is the one that I own.

Now I think I will settle if I can get Open Office to work.

Libreoffice have more support.

Do you have the original Office 2003 on disc, did you purchase it through the Microsoft Store and do you know the 25 character product key?

Please verify: Are you on Windows 7 or Windows 10?

Naturally you can use Open Office or LibreOffice if you wish.

I have a Microsoft Office 2000 that was still using when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
--- I just experimented on re-installing Microsoft Office 2000 and it installed and ran ok which is what I expected.
--- Running ok though is just that as there were some things it didn't do anymore as it's so far out of date but I did expect that also and it makes sense to me along with some incompatibility issues.
--- Naturally I'm going to uninstall it because I'm using Office Home and Student 2016.

With that said, if you want to try to continue with Office 2003 you might want to try this

--- As far as I know, Office 2003 Extended support ended on April 8, 2014.

--- It probably ran OK when you were on Windows 7 since there was a Microsoft Compatibility utility available back then but that has also been ended from Microsoft support.

Any way you can try your Office 2003 one more time or the other office programs.
--- In my case I went with Office Home and Student as mentioned but as single user one time payment.

I was told I could install any of the free Office programs if :
I went into Windows/system32 and changed the name of mscoree.dll to mscoreebak.dll

That sounds good, but I was not allowed to make that change of names.
It did NOT give me any options to make the change of names.
WOE is me!!!

I installed LibreOffice (64bit or 32bit) without any problem, there is no need to change files or files name to to that.

Roy111 that is great for you, but every and I do mean EVERY Office I have tried to install I get that (SOB) Error 1935. I don't know why I get that but I do and I have no idea how fix it so that don't get it.

I have probably got that PC so screwed up by now, it is a wonder anything works.
