    PC Bugs, literally. Dust mites?

My pc runs fine generally speaking but I have bugs, literal bugs crawling on my pc

There's no great infestation but I sometimes see one at a time just crawling along the top of my pc case and my monitor too. They are absolutely tiny (too small to photograph easily) and I assume they are dust mites of some kind. I saw them for the first time around this time last year and never saw them again until last week. I'm a neat freak and keep my office very tidy, vacuming twice a week and de-dust my pc about twice a year.

Has anyone else here seen similar on their rigs and any advice on how to combat the little critters? Thanks

I have seen these on an old laptop. Apparently they thrive on dead skin that has fallen into the keyboard and they also like humid conditions.

Not sure if its practical for you but for a laptop you can place it in a moderately well sealed bag together with one of those largish tubs of desiccant crystals that absorb moisture. That seems to eradicate them. Also thoroughly vacuum the keyboard regularly.

Thanks for the reply. My daily use machine is a Mid Tower desktop pc and it can be on for 10+ hours a day. It is well ventellated with two case fans (front and back) plus the cpu fan and gpu fans (idle most of the time) and will draw in a lot of dust over time if left unchecked . . .I do keep it fairly well maintained but not well enough perhaps.

Just remember that roaches & other small critters like warm dark spaces, that's why they kill so many consoles.
