I can't get spellchecker to work

Hi all, now for my second query. On windows 10 the spell checker is not working. I've checked settings and it is switched on. Is it a Google Chrome setting problem? It used to work OK on Windows 7 on my old laptop....

Hi,which spell checker? There is one that works in UWP apps, but not other programs. Otherwise you're usually reliant on the spell checked in a particular program.

It sounds as if your query is Chrome specific, rather than Win 10. If so you may prefer to use a Chrome forum, or you may be lucky here.

Thanks, but what is a UWP app?! I'm using a bog standard laptop, (not Apple) nothing technical. Windows 7 built in spellchecker worked fine with every program I used, inc emails.

Thank you for saying it is probably a browser issue - you are quite right. I looked in help on Google Chrome and others had same issue - eventually found a fix mentioned that worked - right click any text field and tick the spellcheck It WORKS! Many thanks for your help.

    Hi glad that was resolved.

    Your question:

UWP apps are those supplied via the Store, and with Windows such as Groove, Photos, even Settings.

Unlike the programs you are familiar with they use a new programming paradigm- no exe's, no dll's, and generally no use of the registry.
