I've no idea why the build is older, we bought the laptop a few weeks ago - should I be complaining to the store? I found some simple settings to adjust, but I think I will just have to avoid touching the mouse pad while typing... thanks for the tips . I might try a wireless mouse too.
Most touchpads have a setting you can turn off (Tap to click) so you have to click to left or right mouse button equivalent to do anything, or use a wireless mouse which many people do.

Just checked update history and last one was day we first had the laptop, even though it is set to update automatically. Just manually checked for update and now it downloading a load more including 1803. It said it had last checked 9am this morning. (Incidentally, this reply got deleted the first time I started typing it, even though my had is nowhere near the touchpad) :-(

Hope the feature upgrade goes ok. If it does, create a new base disk image.

Obviously see if you till have the typing problem: if so,
    a. compare in Safe Mode

    b. if ok then, compare after a clean boot
