And this is how it looks if I have my Sony 40" hooked up to my X299, and set it to Extend these displays.

My 27" Asus on the right is the Primary monitor, and has the taskbar on it.

And if I drag anything to the Sony on the left, it automatically becomes the proper resolution when I drag it to the top and let it go.

Notice how the picture of Jason adjusts itself to fit on the 1920 x 1080 Sony.

So here`s a shot of Jason in Friday the 13th part 2 on the Sony 40" (on the left) along with my desktop on the Asus 27" (on the right)

When I put this particular movie on the Sony, it fills the entire screen because it has an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, not sure why Print Screen and Paint are capturing it like that.

@jimbo45 kodi's nice and all but it has a nasty habit of not wanting to actually close, as for ads no. i have the server and player installed on my pc, have plex kinked through webos and so far after several months not a issue. now that said to each their own, or as you said ymmv. now if i ever add a wifi card to the pc i probably will give kodi another shot since i'll then be able to use miracast to send that to the tv. on another note just bought a roku express.
