Play movies from Computer to TV

If you drag the player over to the TV, it`s NOT supposed to be on the PC, if you are using extended.

Make sure you are using Extended, not duplicate, unless you actually want it duplicated. If it does what you want than just leave it set to duplicate

Drag the player by the top bar by putting the mouse arrow on the top bar that I have the red arrow pointed to in Reply #3, left click on the bar and hold the mouse button down and drag it over to the TV.

And to see the whole video on the TV, you have to make sure you have the PC`s monitor set to it`s default resolution and and you have to set the TV to it`s default resolution. The TV should do this automatically, but if you use it as a PC monitor, the resolution can be changed.

Your TV is most likely 1920 x 1080 yes ?

And as Navy said, you can`t have the player at full screen, it has to be in a window in order to drag it over, Like so, then you can set it to full screen once it`s on the TV.

Here I`m using windows Movies & TV app to watch The Meg, and I made the window smaller so you can see what we mean.

The window can be bigger. As long as you can grab the top border, you can drag it to your TV

You can also click on Start and type movies and Movies & TV should show as a choice.

Darn it, I meant to say left click on the bar to drag the player over to the TV

Here is what Jim is talking about, just right click on the video or movie file you want to watch and you`ll get a drop down menu. Highlight open with and you`ll see your options.

Did your squadron operate out of NAS Quonset Point, RI? I was in Air Operations/Tower Control in '61 and '62, got a mandatory extension for the Cuban Missile Crisis.

And you are correct, when you right click the desktop and choose Display settings, both the PC and TV should show up.

I sometimes watch movies on my 40" Sony.

This is what you should see when you have 2 monitors connected, if you click on either one you can set the screen resolution. But the recommended resolution should already be set, like in the picture.

And you can put whichever you want on the right or on the left, so your mouse arrow doesn`t go the wrong way you want your mouse to flow to the right or to the left, this is a bit hard to explain.

If they aren`t setup how you want them, you just move one of the monitors by clicking on it and drag it to the left or the right.

My Sony is to my left when I use my X299, so I put it on the left.

My Sony is to my right if I use my Z170, so I put it on my right.

You don`t physically move the TV.
