Windows installer status not allows installation and change

    Hello,

I'm using Window 10 Pro OS

With any .exe installation attempt I have this kind of messages:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-untitled-2.png

I hope changing of service status in Windows installer properties should help, but Stop button is not enabled and does not allows to do that:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-untitled-1.png

    Need your support

Any advice, guide or example would be very helpful

Fix: Another Installation is in Progress on Windows 7, 8 and 10 - Appuals.com

Note: I found only 1 other ref. to that msg on the forum - unanswered

    Hello,

So, I've followed your guide and will list you results:

    Solution 1:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-untitled-2.png

    Solution 2

I don't have any of msiexec.exe, installer.exe or setup.exe in Task Manager Background processes or Windows Installer in Apps:

    Solution 3

I don't have installer in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Installer in Registry Editor to follow step 4, here is a image:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-untitled-1.png

Solution 4 is shown in my question, I can't press on Stop button or change with Startup type dropdown menu:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-untitled-9.png

So I'm not able to install anything on Windows 10 OS:

Thanks. Do you have more than one user account- is it possible some installation is under way under another account?

Not that msiexec.exe should be visible under the Details tab in task manager:

Windows installer status not allows installation and change-1.jpg

Here you can see I've started the service, and the exe then appeared (list on the right - Details, task manager)

If you can see it there, try stopping the process (rt click, end it)
