    Windows 10 clock running slow


    I have a PC which I bought as a Windows 10–ready system, with Windows 7 installed. In due course I upgraded to Windows 10. The BIOS is UEFI, but it is operating in legacy mode. I recently discovered that the Windows clock is running slow (i.e. gradually falls further and further behind real time until the next re-sync with an NTP server). It could have been like this for ages without me noticing. The rate at which it falls behind varies from one day to the next but, typically, it loses a second or two over an hour. If I re-sync manually with an NTP server it can sometimes be slightly behind even immediately afterwards. I am confident this is not a motherboard hardware or CMOS battery issue because if I boot up into the BIOS setting screen, the time shown is accurate and it stays that way. It therefore appears that the problem lies within Windows. Any suggestions?

    Time drift can be caused by a not responding time server. Try changing the NTP server first. See #2 about checking the associated Service. Windows 10 Clock Time wrong? Here is the working fix! See #4, #5 and #6 also.
