I found the solution. My problem was a bad/faulty contact in my case. Ran the setup from outside of the case, no crash. For those with a desktop computer, it's worth a try.
I'm not sure my issue is the same as this one. In my case, if I walk away from the PC for a few hours and leave it on, or if I put it to sleep (it wakes for some reason), when I come back to it, it is on, the screen is blank, and I get nothing, and have to hard shut down.
Does this sound like same as others experiencing here? If so, I'll explore back through for some of the solutions.
I would like to add a fix that applied to me. I have Win 10 upgraded on Win 7. I had previously gone through my browser cookies and blocked everything I could. I noticed that s.yimg kept popping up during some freezes.
I went into cookies and re enabled it, and freezing is pretty much history. So it is possible a arrogant cookie is causing some of the problems. I hope this is of some help.
I use Mozilla Sea Monkey.
sorry for the bump, but did you solve your problem? did the system "come back" from the hanging after 5 min or so?
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
I think mine stopped freezing after I closed dropbox. I checked the event viewer and although I didn't see anything exactly on the time of the freezing, I saw a lot of repeating errors (in the ERROR section: "The DbxSvc Failed to connect to the
driver: (-2147024894) The system cannot find the file specified.) near that time (but after the freezing not before, yet I decided to check if it was dropbox [DbxSvc seems to be a dropbox service] as I don't know what is the process of the event logging of the computer).
Maybe there is a compatibility issue of dropbox with windows 10 on some systems. I don't know who to blame though, dropbox, microsoft, or other. I just close dropbox when it's up with the system, didn't try anything else yet, and don't know how to really fix the problem.
hi,
i have window 10 frozen problem. Could anyone please get me the solution for it? the problem is actually i wanted to uninstall Avast Antivirus software due to some problem but while un-installing it, i used task manager to end this task forcibly as that un-installation process got stuck, immediately after that my window 10 got frozen and even no keyboard key or mouse is working on the screen. Even for shut down, i had to remove the battery as there was no other option left for me to do power and window shut down. But when i again boot up the window 10, it works fine only for initial 30 secs after start-up, then everything gets frozen and not able to work. i tried this many times but not succeeded. Please kindly help me to sortout this problem. Thanks in advance.
Try using original Avast uninstall utility, it's almost only way to get rid of it. Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal
