    hi,
i have window 10 frozen problem. Could anyone please get me the solution for it? the problem is actually i wanted to uninstall Avast Antivirus software due to some problem but while un-installing it, i used task manager to end this task forcibly as that un-installation process got stuck, immediately after that my window 10 got frozen and even no keyboard key or mouse is working on the screen. Even for shut down, i had to remove the battery as there was no other option left for me to do power and window shut down. But when i again boot up the window 10, it works fine only for initial 30 secs after start-up, then everything gets frozen and not able to work. i tried this many times but not succeeded. Please kindly help me to sortout this problem. Thanks in advance.
Try using original Avast uninstall utility, it's almost only way to get rid of it. Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal

    Hi
I am having the same problems. I have tried the following
    1. Memory test all ok
    2. ran these
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    and cleanmgr.exe

    3. ran disk check for problems wit HDs
    4. updated all drivers.
    5. used gparted and deleted all partitions and formated and reinstalled all fresh and all updated installed
    6. shutdown all non-microsoft services
Nothing helped the freeze is so bad I have time to make a coffee and come back and it is still locked up I know it has something to do with windows 10, I booted to a Linux Mint 18 usb stick and the pc ran perfectly for hours no lock-up. some people paid for this OS and this is the junk the customer gets, but with a free OS like Linux Mint everything works perfectly right away no looking for drivers, patches. email, office program, photo software everything is installed in one time and it is installed in 20min. I nkow this because I use this on my pc at work.

To everyone having Windows 10 freezing problems. This issue was driving me nuts until I got a low on memory message. I have since changed the virtual memory page file to 32GB and the problem seems to have gone away.

There's many causes for freezing problems, lack of free RAM is just one of them.

Lots of freezing issues are caused by driver problems as well, but there are a lot of different issues causing freezing. Lucky I've only had 1 freezing and BSOD issue with Windows 10 and that was with my USB wireless adapter causing problems

I had tried just about everything I knew and could get off the Internet to solve the Window 10 slowdown and freeze. After reloading drivers, removing startup programs and disabling a number or services, it still was not solving the issue. It seems that Windows 10 1703 just needs a tremendous amount of memory. Turning off the automatic virtual memory manager and giving the page file 32 GB, the freezing has finally gone away. The 100% disk usage would make sense if Windows 10 was dumping several GB of memory out to the HD and not having enough mapping space to maneuver. If the freezing comes back, I will comment on it on this thread.

    The Random Freeze

Have come across dozens of suggestions to solve the random lockup problem.....none I tried worked. The symptoms felt like a video conflict but the symptoms were random. Lock up seemed to be without cause. Often the hard drive just stopped. I don't want to list all the symptoms as they were so erratic and varied. The ultimate solution was to change the video card. What seems to have happened is when I updated from Windows XP pro to Windows 10 I used a GT 740 video card with my 24 in HD monitor. Practically there was nothing inherently wrong with the old video card. Worked fine with XP not with 10 because 10 set up at a much higher screen resolution (1920x1080) the "recommended" setting. Simply put the video card did not have enough memory to support the HD monitor. Switched to a GTX 750Ti and the random symptoms ended. Possible way to test out a G-Force video card memory problem is to go into the Nvida Control Panel and change the PhysX setting from recommended to CPU and/ or try going into Windows display settings and lower the screen resolution. The memory load on the card will be reduced.. See if that reduces the symptoms or ends problems.

So, it could be a problem with that 740GPU after all, I had and have seen much older and poorer GPUs without those problems. I had to use an ancient GT 7300/ 250MB for couple of days and it was slow but run without any problems at any resolution.

I have had no freezing problems or 100% disk drive usage since I increased the size of my virtual page pool. I have a 10 GB HP PC and I set the initial limit to 10 GB and the high limit to 32 GB. Freezing problems have gone away. I suggest that anyone having a Windows 10 freezing problem check this simple to do change. Do not let Windows manage the paging pool automatically. The 100% disk usage is being caused by Windows dumping memory to the disk and trying to fit it into too small a virtual space.
