Hello all, ....I do not know what corrective action to take and do not want to go through with a Windows downgrade if that is not for sure the issue (as I still may return the computer and will need it left with Windows 10)SOS
    Hi,
I haven't had a freeze in almost one year. There are many things that you can try to stop lockups. I collected them into one free illustrated tutorial (updated in December 2016):

I found the solution. My problem was a bad/faulty contact in my case. Ran the setup from outside of the case, no crash. For those with a desktop computer, it's worth a try.

    location services

It has been a while and the issue continues to exist. Will there ever be a patch to fix it once and forever? There are numerous reasons triggering this issue, just found out that one of the users also reported to have it fixed by Turning OFF location services (here)

    Freeze to black screen...

I'm not sure my issue is the same as this one. In my case, if I walk away from the PC for a few hours and leave it on, or if I put it to sleep (it wakes for some reason), when I come back to it, it is on, the screen is blank, and I get nothing, and have to hard shut down.

Does this sound like same as others experiencing here? If so, I'll explore back through for some of the solutions.

Yours seem to be well known issue with sleep mode and not HW related.

I would like to add a fix that applied to me. I have Win 10 upgraded on Win 7. I had previously gone through my browser cookies and blocked everything I could. I noticed that s.yimg kept popping up during some freezes.

I went into cookies and re enabled it, and freezing is pretty much history. So it is possible a arrogant cookie is causing some of the problems. I hope this is of some help.

    I use Mozilla Sea Monkey.

sorry for the bump, but did you solve your problem? did the system "come back" from the hanging after 5 min or so?
